The FIFA U-17s Women’s World Cup will take place in Jordan, in the three host cities of Amman, Irbid and Zarqa, on the 30th September- 21st October. This will be the 5th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

The tournament will be the first female world cup in the region, and the event will be the biggest sporting event held in the country's history.

Jordan’s own U-17 women’s team was formed in 2010. Jordan’s first match will be against Spain. The majority of the Jordan team have stepped up from the U-14s side that won 3 consecutive women’s Asian Titles in the age group between 2013 and 2015. English coach Robbie Johnson took charge of the side in May 2016. Johnson is a UEFA A licensed coach and he has worked as a coach at Liverpool for 19 years.

There are 16 teams involved in the tournament; Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Japan, Korea DPR, England, Germany, Spain, Canada, Mexico, USA, New Zealand, Brazil, Paraguay and Venezuela
